Future teaching trips These are the teaching trips planned over the next few months: Switzerland
 I shall be making two visits to the Core Course in Lausanne. On the first trip I will be teaching on the first week of the school. During this, the students will learn how to use the inductive approach to Bible study, which they will be using throughout the school. We will begin with a very practical study of Philemon and discover the powerful message of Galatians. I will be returning to the same school a couple of months later, by which time they will be studying the Old Testament. I will be teaching on the Book of Kings, so they gain a good knowledge of the history of the divided kingdom, and understand what was going so wrong in Old Testament Israel. I will also give an introduction to the prophets, and use the Book of Hosea to teach them how to approach prophetic writing. This will be probably be a very international school, but the lectures will be held in English. Ukraine  Later this year I have been invited to go and speak on the SBS in Kyiv (Kiev), the capital city of the Ukraine. This is one of the largest nations in Europe (nearly 1000 miles across), and has often been in the news in recent months. Since independence from the Soviet Union in 1991, there has been much political turbulence. However the church has seen great growth, and there are many openings for Christian ministry. The SBS has been running for quite a few years, but this will be the first time I have been to teach there. I have been invited to teach on the Book of Isaiah, which is a wonderful and inspiring book to teach. The school will be bilingual in English and Ukrainian, which is very similar to Russian. For this trip, I will need to pay for my own travel, and will not receive any honourarium, so I need to trust that God will provide all I will need. The total cost will be about £300. |
